About the program

Kids For Wish Kids is a popular program because it is managed by kids. The program allows K-8 students to raise funds and help grant wishes for kids with a critical illness.

Students are responsible for the program - from brainstorming fundraising ideas and developing plans of action, to seeing the ideas come to fruition. Teachers and parents often serve as advisors, but ownership of the project belongs solely to the kids involved.

Students choose an idea for a fundraiser and then organize and manage their project from start to finish. Opportunities to raise funds through the Kids For Wish Kids program are endless!  Fundraising examples include:

• Penny Wars
• Dress Down Days
• Read-A-Thons
• Bake Sales
• Car Washes
• Pie-In-The Face Contests

In addition to helping grant wishes, students walk away with a better understanding of:

• Community service
• Volunteering
• Leadership skills
• Money management
• School spirit
• Teamwork
• Entrepreneurship

The opportunities to get involved and raise funds for Kids For Wish Kids are endless – anything from hosting a dance marathon, bake sale or penny wars. It’s all up to you and your friends! To get started download a Kids for Wish Kids Toolkit and Participation Agreement and contact Amy Stidham, 215-987-3140.
