Meet Wish Child, Colby Palomeque. Colby is a six year old sweetheart with a contagious smile, a sweet soul, and a courageous spirit. Colby was diagnosed with Congenital anomalies. Dealing with this diagnosis has been tasking on Colby and his family, but being the inspirational individuals that they are, they look on the brighter side of things always making the most of what comes their way.
Colby is a kind and playful child. He is very outgoing and brightens any room that he enters. When it comes to math, numbers, and navigation, he has a strong love for all three. He is extremely smart and has a passion for learning.
Let’s get to know Colby a little better now! Some people have a difficult time picking their ‘favorites’, but not Colby! He knows what he likes and he is happy to let us know what that is! Colby’s favorite color is a great one because it included them all, rainbow. He has a love for all things Thomas the Train, so of course his favorite stories and books are about Thomas the Train: Choo Choo all aboard! His favorite game is a toss-up between two fantastic-fun filled board games: Monopoly and Sorry!
When it’s time for a snack, you can find Colby munching on his all-time favorite: ginger bread. After he has had dinner and it is time for an even sweeter snack, we can find Colby enjoying a red and white minty, you guessed it, Candy Cane!
When you’re outside you can find Colby playing a number of games, like soccer, baseball, basketball, duck duck goose, tag, hide and seek, and more! When the weather isn’t so bright, Colby has a number of activities he loves doing inside. Some of those things are to play floor hockey, watch movies, bake cookies, learn in school, and he is on the diving team at the local YMCA. Impressive! His favorite thing to do with his family is to decorate the Christmas tree while singing Christmas songs and snacking on ginger bread.
Colby’s love for swimming and sea creatures influenced his decision on what his Wish was. Colby’s Wish was to go to Hawaii, swim with dolphins, swim in that crystal blue water, and explore a new place. It was a trip Colby and his family will never forget, full of memories that will last a lifetime. This dream trip became a reality through individuals who worked hard to fundraise for Make-A-Wish. Through your fundraising, you are helping to make dreams and desires of our Wish children a reality. Granting these dreams and Wishes helps to instill more hope, strength, and joy not just in our Wish families but all who are involved in the process.
Drivers, we would love to hear about how you are fundraising in your community to help grant more Wishes at this year’s Convoy! Send your fundraising photos to email@example.com
