As a team captain, you’ve reached out to lots of family members, friends, and co-workers, but you might not have been as successful as you thought you would be. Instead, try reaching out to 10 people and really getting them to commit. Pick your top 10 most dedicated and energetic friends to join your team. These could be managers of your workplace, teachers at your school, or other leaders in the area. These are people who you know can recruit people and go out of their way to make your team fundraise the most you possibly can! We’ll call these people your “coaches.”
Once you’ve selected your coaches, instruct them on how to recruit others to join your Walk for Wishes team! Each coach will also have to find 10 “teammates” to join their team. You can tell them to ask their family members, friends, co-workers, or anybody else who will join in support of our cause. If each of your coaches is able to reach 10 people, then you will have gained a total of 100 teammates!
The coaches can then ask each teammates to give or raise 10-20 dollars. If each teammate is able to give 20 dollars, then each coach can raise 200 dollars each! Which would bring your team total to 2000 dollars! This 10 x 10 rule is a really great way to raise money by simply reaching out to others. What better way to spread the message of Make-A-Wish?
