As parents of a wish child, Rob and Debbie Ford have seen the rewarding experience of a wish first hand. A few years ago, their daughter, Rebecca’s wish to go to Tomorrowland®, a music festival in Denmark, was granted. The family had an amazing experience, and they just returned from another trip to the same music festival a few weeks ago! Since their magical experience with Make-A-Wish®, the Fords have made sharing the power of a wish their mission
This is Raff Electric’s first time as a sponsor of our Walk for Wishes® although they have been a dedicated Make-A-Wish supporter for a little while. To get the Raff Electric employees involved, the Ford’s got creative and hosted a t-shirt sale, “We just recently did a little fundraising with t-shirts. We bought some shirts, gave them away, and asked that the people make a donation to Make-A-Wish in return for the shirts.”
The Fords look forward to Walk for Wishes because they love to see how their hard work and donation pays off. When asked what he most looks forward to at the event, Rob shared, “Without a doubt, seeing the kids that have received or will be receiving a wish. The smiles on their faces and their parents’ smiles when they talk about it is awesome.”
While Rob and Debbie fundraise for their Team at Walk for Wishes, they have the opportunity to share their daughter’s wonderful Wish experience. For companies or teams without this connection, feel free to reach out to us for some ideas! Short stories, blogs, and videos will make others more knowledgeable about what they’re donating to, and will make them more likely to participate.
Thank you to Raff Electric for being a sponsor for our Walk for Wishes event, and for always being willing to share their Make-A-Wish story!
