Walk for Wishes Delaware-Wish Blog #6 "How to Recruit a Team"

#WalkForWishesDE
Are you having trouble getting a team together for Walk for Wishes? Let us help! We have a couple of ideas on how you can get the biggest team possible!

Let’s start with who to reach out to:

  • Family – Immediate family, extended family, 2nd cousins, great-aunts and uncles, ANYONE who you ask to help support your team for Walk for Wishes. The more the merrier!
  • Friends – Reach out to your closest friends! Use Walk for Wishes as a reunion event for your friend group who you may not have seen in a while! Express your passion for Walk for Wishes, and why you are walking to your friends, to increase the personalization of the invite and the chances that your friends will join you!
  • Coworkers – You see them every day, and it is so easy to send a quick Evite asking them to join you for Walk for Wishes! You could even use this as a team-bonding event for your company!

Need help with getting the word out about your team? Check out some of these ideas:

Make an Event Page on Facebook for your team.

These are quick and easy, and you can invite all of your  Facebook friends at once if you would like! It is also easy to quickly select people who you would like to invite, if you don’t want to invite everyone. This will allow you to easily keep track of who is definitely coming by looking at the event RSVP’s! You can also give event updates in your Facebook event group, by posting in the group! Make sure to include all the details of how to sign up in the Facebook description!

Post on social media about your team.

Social media is a great way to get the word out about your team! Post to Instagram, Facebook, Snapchat, Twitter or any other social media site you like with a picture of you and why you are walking for wishes! The more personal, the better!

Reach out to local communities you are involved with.

Local communities you belong to are a great way to get the word out about your event! Reach out to schools, media groups, religious organizations, teams, etc… and ask them to post an announcement about your team in their newsletter or website!

Send emails from your Walk for Wishes participant page.
This year, your personalized Walk for Wishes page allows you to send emails directly from your page to invite people to join you! This is a great way to invite your friends and family, that includes all the information that they will need to know on it!

As always, please feel free to reach out to us over email or phone number if you have any other ideas you would love to share with us, or if you have any questions! We can be reached by email at jnyx@cuvynqrfi.jvfu.bet or by phone at (215)-654-9355. Good luck with recruiting a team, and we can’t wait to see you at the Walk for Wishes in November!
